“OUDE PIJN, IN NEDERLAND EN JAPAN”（Dutch）

A documentary film by “de Stichting Herdenking 15 augustus 1945

The 15th of August of 2000 was the 55th commemoration day of the defeat of Japan and the end of the World War II. To accentuate this day, the Comemoration Foundation 15 August 1945 (de Stichting Herdenking 15 augustus 1945) had decided to make a documentary film. This film gives a picture of the ways how the Dutch people ( who have East India colonial background) and Japanese people look back the years of the war, respectively, how this period had influenced on the ways they look at their lives, and how they treat their memories of the war now.

Under the same title, “OUDE PIJN”, a long version (2 hours) and a short version (54minutes) were made. Both versions are available in the form of a video.
